The 90-Day E-commerce SEO Plan (Add Sales with Claude)

Most e-commerce SEO fails for one reason.
The store tries to rank everything.
↳ 40 categories, 600 products, one blog nobody reads
↳ Every page gets a centimeter of effort
↳ Nothing gets deep enough to actually rank, in Google or in ChatGPT
Here is the plan I would run today for any store. One category. One quarter. Everything else waits.
I will use a real example: a supplement brand with 1M followers on Instagram, 400K on TikTok, 200K on YouTube. Massive brand. And for "best creatine supplements" they appear nowhere. Not in Google. Not in AI answers. Not in a single source AI tools cite.
Oh and before we start:
Here's the free SEO/GEO e-com agent you can use to grow your revenue
Step 1: Pick the category and audit only that
Go to your main menu and pick one category you want to own. Not the biggest. The one where you have the best product and a real chance.
Then run a crawl of the site and filter the results to that category only. Title contains "creatine". That is the whole audit.
In this example that gives 7 pages built around creatine. Then a quick brand + topic search in Google shows about 30 blog assets on the subject.
30 sounds like a lot. It is not. Real topic authority on one category takes a couple hundred assets across your site and your own channels. So 30 is the starting line, not the finish.
Do the same for your store. Connect Search Console, filter on the category keyword, and look at impressions and CTR per page. I do this inside ChatSEO because it sits directly on Search Console data, so the filter is a one-line ask instead of a CSV export. The point is the same either way: assign actions to URLs based on data, not gut.
You will find pages that need to be merged, pages that need to be rewritten, and pages that should be deleted. Do not skip the deletes.
Step 2: Build the query map with the five stages of awareness
Five stages: unaware, problem aware, solution aware, product aware, most aware.
Work in reverse. Start at the bottom.
Most aware is everything directly about your creatine product. Dosage, flavors, mixing, shipping, subscription, comparison to your own other products. These are the easiest wins on the internet. Your competitors cannot beat you on queries that contain your brand name. Pull these from Search Console filtered on "your brand + category". I ask ChatSEO for the list of branded queries where I rank but get few clicks, since that is a query in the data, not a guess.
Cover them either on the product and category pages themselves, or as dedicated assets when the topic is deep enough. Judgment call each time.
Solution aware is where the money is. "Best creatine for vegans." "Best creatine for women over 40." "Best creatine for sensitive stomachs."
Take your seed keyword and ask any AI for 20 variants with unique intent. Then check which ones have volume. I do this in ChatSEO because it pulls live search data, so I get volume and difficulty next to each variant in one pass.
Keep 15 to 20 core intents. That is enough for a quarter.
Step 3: Compare yourself to competitors, in writing, on your site
This is the step clients hate and the step that works.
When someone asks ChatGPT "best creatine for vegans", the AI does not answer from memory. It searches, pulls a set of listicles, and then runs follow-up queries on the brands it found. "Brand X review." "Brand X alternatives." "Brand X vs Brand Y." That is query fan-out.
So you publish exactly the pages the AI is about to search for.
Four query types, for each of your 7 to 10 biggest competitors in the category:
- [Competitor] review
- [Competitor] alternatives
- [Competitor] vs [Competitor]
- [Competitor] vs you
The third one is the underrated one. Take "Brand A vs Brand B creatine", a query you will find in Search Console, and add your brand at the end. "Brand A vs Brand B vs You: creatine battle." You inherit the relevance of the two big names and place yourself in the comparison.
Be objective. Different formulation, different price per serving, different testing. No trash talk. It reads better and converts better.
With 19 intents and four comparison types, the example brand needs 71 new pages on the website. And that is scratching the surface.
Every one of these pages links back to the category page. The category page is the hub. Everything else exists to feed it.
Step 4: Multiply the same topics across your owned channels
The website is one channel. Now run the same 19 topics on every channel you own that Google indexes fast.
Check indexation first: paste your latest YouTube video URL or LinkedIn article URL into Google. If it is indexed within days, the channel counts.

For "best creatine for vegans" you end up with: a page on your site, a video, a LinkedIn article, a TikTok, a Reel. Same topic, five URLs, all pointing back to the site.
On LinkedIn, publish on the company page, then have every employee share it. The CEO with 5,000 followers sharing it creates crawl paths and indexation signals. LinkedIn articles regularly land in the top 5 results for competitive B2B queries. There is no reason a supplement brand cannot do the same.
Add team engagement on every platform. If you post on YouTube, your team comments. That pushes the total closer to 250 to 500 signals in the quarter.
This alone, with nothing off-site, is enough to move a brand that currently ranks for nothing.
Step 5: Go where the AI already looks
Now the off-site part. Run your 5 core queries through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode and write down every source they cite. For 5 queries you will collect roughly 250 citations.
Sort by domain. The domains that show up for every query are your targets. In supplements it is Healthline, Men's Health, Good Housekeeping, Garage Gym Reviews, Amazon, Reddit, a handful of YouTube channels.
Prioritize by how many queries a domain appears in. Then pick the method per domain:
- Healthline "6 best creatine monohydrate supplements": find the contact, find the inclusion criteria, do whatever it takes. Product, money, relationships. This is priority one.
- Amazon: the example brand does not sell creatine there. That is a listing to create, not an outreach email.
- Reddit: target the threads already appearing in AI citations first. Then watch the subreddits daily and reply early on new threads.
- YouTube channels that cover creatine every week: partnership, not a comment on an old video.
- Sponsored posts on big media: yes. The AI does not distinguish paid from organic. If it is on the page, it is a citation.
Even 20% brand coverage across the top 10 cited domains changes the answer the AI gives.
Step 6: Fix the category page and make the site readable for agents
Last piece, and the one most stores skip because it is boring.
Run the category page against the top-ranking competitors for its main query and look at missing entities. In the example the creatine category page covers a fraction of what the top 10 cover. Rewrite it. Add the FAQ block. Link to every supporting asset.
Then check three technical things:
- Freshness. View the page source and search for "2023" or "2022". Old dates in code, old images, old schema. AI retrieval prefers fresh pages and it reads code, not design.
- Speed. Slow pages lose in both search and retrieval.
- Bot access. Make sure your robots.txt does not block GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and especially CCBot. Common Crawl is the dataset model labs train on. If CCBot cannot reach your creatine pages, your brand never gets into the model. It only ever gets a chance at retrieval.
On a Shopify or WordPress store, this is the part where I just ask ChatSEO to check the robots.txt, the missing schema and the outdated meta on the category page and apply the fixes, since it connects to the store directly. It is an hour of work, not a project.
The honest caveat
This is 200 pieces of content on one category in 90 days. Most stores will not do it because it is hard. That is why it works.
It does not require a big brand. The example brand has 1M Instagram followers and is still invisible, because they never focused. A 3-person store that focuses on one category beats a 100-person brand that fights on 40 fronts.
Ship creatine. Then move to collagen.
