When Nothing Is Working, This Is How You Get To $1k/Day

Every ad you launch flops.

Spent a few hundred bucks on your first CBO.

A few sales came in. 0.8 ROAS.

"Is it my avatar?"

"What should I launch next?"

"Test advertorials?"

"Should I switch products?"

If you find yourself in this vicious cycle, then read this all the way through before you launch your next ad.

Because this one insight will take you from the cycle of despair.

Launching products and new CBOs with nothing to show for it -> consistent $1k/days if you pay attention and implement everything.

STEP 1: FACING THE MIRROR AND OPERATIONALIZING SUCCESS.

First of all. If you want to succeed in anything, just model your behavior after what successful people are doing.

In the physical world, every material effect has a preceding or simultaneous cause.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

When you strip it down to what anyone killing it in ecom is LITERALLY DOING.

Researching. Launching ads. Analyzing data. Launching more.

If you boil it down even further:

Reading reddit threads + amazon reviews + organic social posts -> writing down information -> creating insights -> copy and pasting that information into Claude/ChatGPT -> creating scripts/ads -> opening up ads manager -> creating a new ad set -> creating a new ad -> swapping out the image -> swapping out the primary text -> swapping out the headline -> pressing preview to publish -> pressing publish

After ad runs for 7 days:

looking at spend -> looking at CPC (link) and CTR (link) -> looking at purchases -> looking at CPA -> looking at ROAS -> checking hypothesis -> making observations about data -> marking as winner/loser -> hypothesize why it's winning/losing -> using insights to create new ads -> etc., etc., etc.,

My point in demonstrating this is that success in ecom isn't locked behind some hidden routine or secret.

The top dawgs do the same shit you do.

It's just the output they get (the effect) is radically different.

So it's not that you need to do anything different.

Success = cause and effect.

If you want a different effect, change the cause.

But not change what you're doing, change HOW you're doing it.

You're not missing anything.

You're just not learning from your mistakes.

And learning = same situation, different behavior, different outcome

So if you're constantly getting the same outcomes with your ads, I hate to be an asshole, but you're not learning. And that's the ego-shattering truth.

Just like if you know the stove is hot, but you keep touching it, you haven't learned.

If you keep launching ads and they're not getting better, you're not actually learning.

"My CPC is high, let me change the hook" is not a learning either.

So this is the first thing.

Come to terms with the reality that success is just cause and effect.

There's nothing magical that you're missing out on. No prompt. No AI tool.

You're just not as good at learning from your mistakes and changing your behavior to get a different outcome.

STEP 2: REAL RESEARCH

Let me show you the difference between research, and REAL research.

Research = I was so frustrated. Every ad I launched would fail.

This is where most of you guys are at with your ads.

You think just because there's some emotional word that you've somehow gone deep enough.

WRONG.

The best ads are ones that make people go, "WTF how does he know that"

Real research = You used to open Kalodata. Sort by highest GMV. Grab the top 3-5 videos. Throw them into a CBO campaign. You were pulling 3-4 ROAS for 2 weeks until the results fell off a cliff. Then you started scrambling. Duping campaigns over and over again. Cost caps/bid caps. But nothing could bring back performance. The part that pisses you off most is that it fell off a cliff out of nowhere. Why was it working before but not now?

Real research = You followed the prompts exactly like the video showed. Launched your CBO campaign. $200+ CPMs and a $4 CPC. No conversions came in. You tested out new hooks and leads and changed images too. Relaunched it. Again, $200+ CPMs and CPC not much better. $500. You look at competitor copy. You think to yourself "mine looks exactly like there's so why is it not converting." You start to think about switching products.

With your audience you likely haven't gone deep enough. You might know their pain. But you don't know the real "insider" information. The shit only they know.

Research = The sciatica pain is so bad. I miss who I used to be. I can't enjoy my vacation. I can't play with my grandkids. I miss my independence.

This is where most of you guys are at with the research. You THINK it's deep. But in reality. It's surface-level shit.

It's the same as saying to a dropshiper:

"Are you frustrated by every ad you launch failing?"

Yeah no shit dumbass.

This is shit anyone could figure out.

It doesn't pierce through your audience's heart.

They don't feel heard.

They don't feel seen.

They keep scrolling.

Real research = You panic when you feel a sneeze coming on. You brace your hips, lift up whichever leg is affected, and look up towards ceiling because it helps dampen the pain. Now you pinch your nose anytime you feel a sneeze coming on. You have PTSD from the few times a sneeze has come through because of the pain. The sciatic pain is bad enough. But now little things you used to never think twice about fill you with anxiety. You feel helpless. Like you're not in control of your life anymore. Like you can't escape the pain because it follows you everywhere and hijacks the smallest parts of your life.

See the difference?

This is the type of research that makes a SPECIFIC type of person go "wtf how do they know that."

This is the level you need to get at with your research.

When you're researching, imagine yourself mining for diamonds in Minecraft.

The broad insights are the iron ore.

The first time you see it you're like, "oh shit, nice"

But you know that diamonds is what you're really after.

You're looking for behaviors and thought patterns that only the Avatar can know.

You're trying to understand the pain. The inside jokes. The memes.

The things only THEY would understand.

Only THEY would know.

Only THEY would relate to.

The only way to do this is to go DEEP.

Look for SPECIFIC behaviors. Moments. Experiences. Jokes. Memes.

Not just "I miss playing with my grandkids."

Or "I miss the old me."

You're looking for:

"I was doing so well....and then I sneezed."

Your goal in research is to find these oddly specific things.

Then weave them into your copy.

And if you take ANYTHING away from this post let it be this:

The only thing worse than an ad that's generic.

Is an ad that THINKS it understands, but doesn't.

I'd rather be generic than feign authenticity.

Because feigned authenticity is offensive. It's fake. It screams "I'm trying to get you to buy something." or "I'm not one of you."

It's why people cringe when Taylor Swift goes to a Knicks game.

But clap when they see Spike Lee or Adam Sandler at the same game.

SO.

To end this post.

Examine your ads.

How deep are you really going?

Do you really know your audience as well as you think you do?

Or have you just convinced yourself you've gone deep because you've read a few Reddit posts?

RECAP.

  1. The answer to $1k/day is research. Launch ads. Analyze data. Make new ads.
  2. 100% of the time your ads are failing because your research is too surface level.

Focus on what matters.

Improve every ad by doing the real research that nobody else is doing.

Then $1k/day becomes inevitable.
