Claude Opus 5 launched. I asked what it recommends in my category. It named a competitor.

Claude Opus 5 is here.

Everyone is switching today.

And it already has an opinion about your company.

You just have not asked it yet.

If you sell anything and have not done this:

↳ a new model drops every few weeks now

↳ each one is what your buyers ask instead of Googling

↳ each one has its own silent opinion of your brand

Most founders find out what the AI says about them by accident. In a sales call. When a prospect says "I asked Claude and it recommended someone else."

One real number. I scanned 229 sites in this space. 13 block or throttle GPTBot. That is 6% invisible to AI before content even matters. They have no idea.

Here is the loop I run at every launch.

  1. Ask the new model, cold, what it recommends in your category.
  2. Not "tell me about my brand." That is a softball. Ask the buyer's question: "best tools for X." See who it names. See if you are there.

2. Check whether it can even read you.

Half the time the model skips you because it was never allowed to crawl you. A 403 at your CDN and you are invisible before content matters. Free check: fulcru.app/tools/ai-crawler-check

  1. Read your own page the way the model does.

Models lift passages, not pages. Most sites hide the answer under a menu, or render it with JavaScript the crawler never runs.

  1. Find the exact questions where a competitor is named and you are not.

This is the whole game. Not "am I visible." "Which questions do I lose, and to whom."

  1. Do it at every launch, not once.

Opus 5 shipped yesterday. Run your whole prompt set against it today. Each model has different training data, so each one recommends differently. The brand that checks every launch catches the drop before a prospect does.

New model digs. Fulcru judges.

I packaged the whole loop as a free tool and a Claude Skill, so it runs itself. Start here: fulcru.app/tools/ai-crawler-check
