Old SEO is dead.

People now discover what to buy through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and other AI search engines in 2026.

If you're not showing up in those results, you're basically invisible.

I've been optimizing my website for AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) for the last 6 months.

And AI tools started to recommend my SaaS much more lately:

In this article, I'll explain you how I did that step-by-step, so you can start getting customers from ChatGPT and other LLMs too πŸ“ˆ

Step 1: Creating High-Intent Articles πŸ“š

When someone asks ChatGPT a question, it searches across the web for the most relevant and trustworthy sources that best match their intent.

So the logic is simple.

Create content that clearly gives ChatGPT the information it needs, and it’s more likely to discover, cite and recommend your website.

You might ask - "can I use AI to automate this?"

Yes and NO.

Most people use AI to publish generic content that adds no real value and gets ignored.

The real advantage comes from knowing how to structure the article, what information to include and how to prompt AI to produce content that answer engines actually want to recommend.

Here's some tips to write a good article:

  • Put a "quick answer" at the top
  • Author details + "I" language instead of "we" (AI loves personal opinions)
  • Follow a specific structure for each section
  • Add external links to valuable + trustworthy resources (back up your claims)
  • Update your content regularly

Learning all these can be quite confusing at the beginning.

But don't be afraid - it's something you'll get used to in a few weeks at max.

You can also ask ChatGPT your high-intent keyword (for example, "best social media management tools for agencies") and then look at all the pages from the "Sources" πŸ‘‡

Then go to ChatGPT again, and ask "tell me what these pages are doing that helps them to show up in AI search?"

It's going to tell you everything you should know πŸ™ƒ

IMPORTANT NOTE: I see so many people try to get more traffic.

But more traffic β‰  more customers ($$$)

For example, you can create 50 Free Tools in a few days with AI + start getting CRAZY traffic.

This doesn't mean you can convert them into paying customers ($$$).

So instead, you should create content around your money keywords (such as "best SEO software", "top social media management tools", "best plumber in Austin" etc.)

Building backlinks has two main benefits:

  1. increases your DR (domain authority) + TRUST πŸ“ˆ
  2. gets you into listicles or roundups on other websites πŸ™Œ

The 2nd one is especially important for AI to trust you.

The more mentions you have from independent websites = the MORE trust built.

You have 2 ways to build backlinks:

  1. Manually find pages + contact them + ask for a backlink or link-exchange
  2. Or automate it with tools like elvixai.com πŸ€–

There was a direct correlation between the backlinks I built and more traffic I got from AI.

Step 3: Collect Customer Reviews on G2 + TrustPilot + Google

AI needs a reason to recommend your website to a user.

So again, it comes down to how much AI can trust what you claim.

And easiest way to do this is collecting real customer reviews:
