How to Become Unrecognisable (in 180 days)

By 30, I had built an 8 figure trading portfolio, a 7 figure business and achieved top 1% fitness levels.
I'm giving you the exact system I've used to accomplish all of this.
Follow it for 6 months, and you’ll become unrecognisable.
The ONE Thing
I used to think that productivity was about doing as much as I could.
That the fastest way to improve was to spend as much time as possible on every goal I was working on.
I tried to:
- Trade every strategy and every asset
- Work on 7 different businesses in different areas at the same time
- Train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Gymnastics, and Strength Training all at the same time
And, I tried to prioritise all of these different areas of my life… all at the same time.
This was my process for years and it brought me some degree of success.
But there was a problem.
I'd always reach a plateau that I just couldn't break.
Then I read a book which changed everything.
I started making more progress in 6 months than I used to make in 3 years.
That book was called The ONE Thing.
And it introduced me to the idea that you should only focus on the ONE thing that would make all your other tasks easier or completely unnecessary.
In this article, I’m going to show you exactly how I applied this concept, so that you can do the same.
Quick One
If you're reading this, you're probably serious about getting better.
Whether that's in trading, business, fitness or life generally, you're willing to put in the work. You just want to make sure that work actually produces results.
I share a lot more of what I'm learning and applying across these areas in my Telegram.
It's completely free. You can join here.
Lesson 1: Creating the Right Conditions
This is the foundation of my system.
It’s what allows me to consistently execute tasks instead of getting bored or skipping days when I don’t have the willpower.
I call it: Monk Mode

Simply put: It’s a period where I stack simple, high impact habits that allow me to be the most productive.
Mentally: I’m able to think clearly without distraction.
Emotionally: I’m less reactive to triggers that could make me deviate from my plan.
Physically: I have more than enough energy for the entire day.
Each day I add ONE habit (although if you’re just starting I recommend adding one per week).
And I make sure that habit makes all future habits easier and removes the need for any complexity (like 5 hour morning routines).
You can test different habits yourself, but I’ve already tested 100s.
Here are the exact habits I stack, in order:
(1) Sleep Hygiene
80% of Monk Mode benefits come from optimising sleep.
The easiest way I’ve found to do this:
- Cutting out electronics at least one hour before bed
- Sleeping at EXACTLY the same time every night
Don’t worry if your sleep isn’t fixed immediately. The other habits we are about to add will also help.
(2) Cutting out cheap dopamine
We’re surrounded by activities that give us instant bursts of pleasure without any hard work or long term benefit.
Doomscrolling, binge watching Netflix and junk food just to name a few.

These activities destroy our ability to work hard on an activity where reward takes time.
So I cut out all forms of cheap dopamine immediately.
If you struggle with this, I recommend picking 1 trigger a week and just focusing on that.
(3) Meditation
Meditation is the equivalent of working out your brain.
You’re training your awareness and focus.
10-15 minutes gets you most of the benefits, 20-60 minutes if you want to take it very seriously.
The increased awareness creates a powerful loop, where you experience the benefits of monk mode with clarity…
Which makes it easier to stay in monk mode.
(4) Diet
I’ve tried every diet under the sun since the age of 14.
The only rules that matter are these: eat whole foods, don’t eat too much and get enough protein.
(5) Exercise
At a minimum: 10 push ups, 10 squats and some cardio every day. At this stage we just want consistency.
If you’re already doing more: You likely don’t need me to give you programming advice.
These habits build on top of each other.
Rather than creating something that is difficult to maintain, we have created an environment where consistency is significantly easier.
Once I have this foundation down, it’s time to apply that ability to be consistent.
Lesson 1: Actionable Takeaway
Starting today, stack these habits, in this order, adding 1 per week:
- (1) Sleep hygiene
- (2) Cutting cheap dopamine
- (3) Morning meditation
- (4) Clean diet
- (5) Consistent exercise
Lesson 2: Identify Your Goal
I’ve worked with 500+ traders.
As part of that: I always want to know their reason for trading in the first place.
But so few of them actually have a clear goal.
That lack of clarity makes it impossible to clearly define what you need to do to achieve it.
So whenever I set a goal, I make sure I define these 3 things:

(1) The Why: Keep asking yourself why you want to achieve that goal until you cannot go any deeper. Sometimes our goal is quite different to what we thought it was.
(2) The What: The specific outcome you want to achieve
(3) The Measure: how you’ll track progress and know once you’ve achieved your goal
To give you an example, the most common goal I hear from traders is:
- Freedom
But, what does that mean, and how can you measure progress or achievement?
A better goal would be:
I want the ability to spend as much time with my kids as possible, whilst providing them a high quality of life.
To achieve that I need a trading skillset that produces $5k per month without having to be confined to someone else’s schedule or a specific location.
Before we move on, I want you to do this yourself.
What is your number 1 life priority right now?
Once you’ve thought about it: run it through the 3 steps to make sure it is fully defined.
Lesson 2: Actionable Takeaway
Before you read any further, sit down for 5 minutes and think about your number 1 goal. Then define:
- The Why: Your most foundational reasoning behind that goal
- The What: The specific outcome you want to achieve
- The Measure: How you’re going to know you’re making progress
Lesson 3: Identify the Right Actions
Having a clear goal is a good starting place.
But it doesn’t mean you know the exact steps you need to take to achieve it.
This stage is often the most frustrating.
You spend hours working on something, thinking you are progressing, only to learn you’re still clueless.
But once you do know the right actions to work on, you become significantly more likely to achieve your desired result.
Here’s how you can do it:
(1) Identify the repeatable actions of someone who has already accomplished your goal
In 99% of cases, someone has achieved the exact goal you are aiming for.
That means you don’t have to figure it out yourself.
Instead - reverse engineer which repeatable actions they carried out in order to achieve that goal.
But be careful.
In the last few years the number of influencers telling you they have achieved a goal just to sell you something has skyrocketed.
So it can be hard to assess who you should listen to.
To make sure you have the right set of actions:
(2) Verify those actions with AI
If you ask AI: “does this approach work”.
It will often answer yes, even if the chance of it working is low.
But we don’t want an approach that might work.
We want an approach that works consistently.
So I prefer to give AI two different approaches and ask which one is more likely to produce a successful result.
Here’s the prompt I use:
My goal is to achieve [GOAL] as measured by [METRIC].
I'm trying to establish which repeatable actions give me the highest chance of achieving this goal.
Here are two approaches I’m currently comparing
A: [APPROACH A]
B: [APPROACH B]
Which gives me the higher chance of achieving my goal, and why?
Pick one. Don't tell me both can work.
If you need more information about my goal - please ask me before continuing.
Lesson 3: Actionable Takeaway
- Take two proven approaches you know MIGHT reach your goal
- Compare them using the AI prompt I gave you
Lesson 4: Daily Schedule
Now you have your daily habits and the steps you need to take to reach your goal.
It’s time to make sure you actually dedicate time to these actions.
I’ll start with how I do it.
Then talk about how I’ve seen those with full time jobs and families do it.
My Schedule
Willpower is a limited resource.
Therefore I schedule my day so that I get maximum output from that resource.
Whilst specifics can vary based on my goals, there are a few essentials I never change:
(1) I plan tomorrow at the end of each day. I want 0 distractions when I’m at my peak
(2) I start the day with my foundational habits. These are essential to sustaining high levels of productivity. Remember the goal is to make consistency easy so make sure this doesn’t take too long.
(3) Then I move onto the highest impact activities. The most important tasks are done when my willpower is at its peak.
(4) I deliberately schedule time to “do nothing”. It’s the best habit I’ve found to maintain creativity.
(5) I schedule 2 x 3 hour deep work blocks. 0 distractions, pure focus.

If You Have a Full Time Job / Family Commitments
I have the luxury of viewing my calendar as a blank slate.
Most of the traders I work with, and many of you reading this, do not have that flexibility.
So the specific advice I would give you:
Carve out at least 1 x 2 hour slot where you can be uninterrupted.
The earlier in the day the better.
If you really can’t find any time, you may need to have a tough conversation with yourself.
Think about your goal.
Think about how much of a priority it is.
Then treat it accordingly.
If it is the most important thing: Find a way to make it work.
Change jobs so you have a shorter commute or more flexibility.
Get extra support from your spouse to allow you to focus during that slot.
I’m not saying it’s easy, but I have seen 100s of traders work around these constraints.
If you’re not willing to find a way: then you may need to accept that the goal you set is actually not your number 1 priority.
And that’s fine.
Lesson 4: Actionable Takeaway
Open up a new calendar and plan your day according to these principles:
- End each day with a planning session for the next
- Start your day with a quick foundational routine.
- Schedule time to “do nothing”.
- Put your highest impact tasks first. If you do have a full time job / family: Aim for 1 uninterrupted slot of 2 hours each day
Lesson 5: Reviewing Progress
You now have a clear daily schedule that if followed - is likely to achieve your goal.
But, it’s almost impossible to get right first time.
So it’s important to review progress and tweak your actions based on your performance.
This review process is the final habit I stack.
Every 2 weeks I sit down and look at two different types of measurements:
(1) Leading Measurements: Am I actually doing the work?
Example measurements:
- Fitness: Exercise Trackers
- Trading: Daily habit checklists
- Business: Number of YouTube Videos posted
If I am doing the work -> we can move onto the next measurement.
If I am not doing the work -> then my biggest focus for the next 2 week cycle becomes identifying why and fixing that.
(2) Lagging Measurements: Is the work having the desired impact?
Example measurements:
- Fitness: 1 rep max on a specific exercise
- Trading: Expectancy measured in my trading journal
- Business: Revenue growth
If the work is having the desired impact -> great I’ll continue with my actions until I reach my goal or my reviews tell me otherwise.
If the work is not having the desired impact -> it could be a sign that I’m wrong and the actions I am executing won’t lead to my goal. Time to re-assess those actions.
Lesson 5: Actionable Takeaway
Decide exactly how you’re going to measure that
(1) You’re doing the work
(2) The work is having the desired impact.
The Plan
The goal of this article is to become unrecognisable in 180 days.
So here’s the plan:
Day: 1 - 30: Build up your foundational habits
Day: 30 - 45: Define your goal and the proven actions that result in that goal
Day: 45 - 60: Execute your first two week review cycle and improve accordingly
Day: 60 - 180: Using what you learn, continue to execute another 8 two-week cycles.
Good luck.
