Write the vision. Feel the future. Be inspired.
Vol II is where most quit. Because this part requires something a lazy mind will do almost anything to avoid...
Focus.
This isn't sexy work, this isn't exciting....
But without this, who you KNOW you can be... stays a daydream.
With this, the door opens.
Let's begin.
You have two pictures now.
The anti-vision.
That version of you five years from now where nothing changed. Can you remember how it felt to write it? The heaviness in their posture. The pain behind their eyes. The way they slowly gave up because it felt so out of their nature to improve.
And the vision.
The person you are deep down. The way they wake up excited. The certainty that sits in their chest. The deep trust that whatever happens, they'll figure it out.
You felt something when you wrote them.
Part of you wonders if that feeling is temporary.
I want to tell you that it isn't....
But you've been here before.
The book that finally made sense. The insight that felt like the missing piece. The morning you woke up certain that this time would be different.
And then.
A week passes. Two.
Little by little, the motivation leaves. The old patterns creep back.
And there's this moment.
You know the one.
You watch yourself do the thing you swore you'd stop. Outside yourself. Helpless. Unable to reach in and change.
"Here we go again."
The bargaining starts. Tomorrow. I'll start fresh tomorrow.
But the words feel hollow. You've said them too many times.
Something in you has started to accept if maybe this is just who you are.
ITS NOT.
And there's nothing wrong with you.
The vision isn't the problem. Your effort isn't the problem.
You've tried to change yourself using the part of your mind that can't change anything.
You understood you should feel confident. You still don't.
You knew the old story wasn't true. You live as if it is.
You could see the better version clearly. You couldn't become them.
The knowing never became REAL.
Something blocked it.
Maltz saw this in his patients.
People who walked out of surgery looking exactly how they'd always wanted. Perfect nose. Fixed scars. Symmetrical face.
He expected them to be transformed.
But something was wrong.
They still felt ugly. Still insecure. Still winced at their own reflection.
The change was REAL.
Why couldn't they see it?
He spent years trying to understand. And then he realised
They weren't looking with their eyes.
They looked with something deeper. Something that had already decided what they'd see. Something that rejected any evidence that didn't match.
He called it the self-image.
It's a gatekeeper.
Picture it.
There's a door in your mind. Everything you want to believe about yourself has to walk through.
And stood at that door is a gatekeeper.
Its job is to protect you. To keep out ideas that don't match who you already know yourself to be. It questions everything. Rejects unfamiliarity.
This is useful. It keeps you from believing every passing thought.
But it also keeps you stuck, and unable to change...
Even if it's the vision you wrote with your own hand.
This is why affirmations feel hollow. You say the words. The gatekeeper hears them and closes the door. Yeah, right.
This is why visualization fails. Thirty seconds in, the gatekeeper interrupts. This is stupid. Who do you think you are?
This is why willpower fails. You fight the gatekeeper. And the gatekeeper always wins.
The gatekeeper can be put to sleep.
There's a state
You've experienced it, even if you didn't know what it was...where the gatekeeper quietens. Where its harder to hear. Where the door swings open and ideas effortlessly pass through.
In that state, your subconscious accepts ideas.
In normal waking life, the gatekeeper is fully alert. Scientists call this beta state: analytical, critical, rational.
But as you relax, it softens into Alpha state.
Calm focus.
The gatekeeper yawns.
Deeper still: theta... right at the edge of sleep, the gatekeeper is essentially unconscious. Door swings open. Ideas slip through.
Visualizations become experienced.

This is what Maltz did with his patients, even though he didn't have the language for it. Drunken the gatekeeper. Open the door. Install new beliefs.
I've watched people try to skip this step. They visualize in normal waking consciousness. Gatekeeper fully alert.
The critical voice tears it apart.
Induction first. Then visualization.
Can you remember what that felt like?
That moment right before sleep. Thoughts blur. You're not quite awake, not quite asleep. Float in between.
Or those moments of presence. Creating something. Exercise. Reading something that made you forget what time it was...
That's theta.
The skill is to learn how to deliberately access this state.
And stay.
There are methods that take you deeper than I can share here.
Protocols I've developed. Audio frequencies that guide you.
Wrote about them on my Substack.
But you don't need any of that to begin.
The Practice
Close your eyes.
Become aware of the sensations in your body. The weight of your limbs. The places where you're tense without realizing.
Focus on how it feels to breathe slower. And as you do, allow every muscle to soften. Head to toe.
You don't need to force anything. Just notice. And let go.
Within a few minutes, you'll notice something. Maybe a heaviness settle in. Perhaps a warmth spreads through your palms. A tingling you weren't expecting.
When that sensation arrives, you're at the edge.
This is the state where the gatekeeper sleeps. Where the door opens. Where what you feed your mind stops being questioned and is accepted.
For now, just stay here. Learn what this place feels like. Let your body memorize the way in.
And as you rest at this edge, allow the vision from Vol I to drift nearby. Just become aware.
The person you're becoming is watching.
Introduce yourself.
Every night this week. Ten minutes. Fifteen if you can.
Let this become a nightly ritual.
You'll fall asleep the first few times. Normal.
Sit up slightly or practice earlier in the day.
There's something that happens around day four. I won't tell you exactly what.
You'll understand when it happens.
What helps me:
L-Theanine — 200mg, thirty minutes before. Quiets the analytical mind. Feel more relaxed and chilled.
Blue Lotus — personal to me. An ancient Egyptian flower with mild hypnotic properties. Makes the visions sharper.
Training wheels.

In Vol III — what to do once the door is open.
How to make the vision so vivid your nervous system can't tell imagination from memory.
Maltz: "The self-image is changed by experience. But experience can be imagined as well as real. The nervous system cannot tell the difference."
That's what we build toward.
A version of you where each night you go to bed, and imagine yourself with a deep self-trust that knows whatever happens, you'll figure it out.
And each morning you wake up certain in who you are.
Life becomes an unfolding. Anything could happen anytime. You walk through your days and appreciate the magic of being here.

Vol III arrives next week.
If you practice this often, you'll be different by then.
The vision you wrote waits.
There's a part of it you haven't found yet.
Tonight, when the gatekeeper sleeps
you might catch a glimpse.
COGITO ERGO SUM.
Begin.
