The hidden trap of delusion the gurus miss

If you've been in the "personal development" or manifestation space of X for more than a week, you've seen many if not 100s of anon accounts teaching you how to kill fears and limiting beliefs and promoting your limitlessness and potential.

And while that's great, most of the people behind these accounts have NEVER achieved ANYTHING significant in their lives.

The adage of "those who can't do, teach" doesn't apply to all, but certainly applies to most of these anon accounts promoting superficial and surface-level motivational content.

You come across a motivational post.

You read it.

Get a nice hit of dopamine.

just to save it and never return to it.

This installs an identity of delusional thinking and belief, with no identical action.

And to achieve what you want doesn't take only delusion - it requires a devoted, yet sustainable, amount of hard work and willingness to see the long game.

What the gurus don't tell you

A rocket ship uses 90% of its fuel just to get into orbit.

But once it's in orbit...

it's free.

This concept applies to attempting to achieve anything significant.

On the Internet, we currently see agency owners, online coaches, day traders, or whatever else is popular doing $50k-100k/month.

And while that looks sexy...

they won't tell you about the years of trial and error, thousands of hours of education, and tons of restless nights and emotions to earn it.

I said this in a Tweet recently...

Galatians 6:9 states:

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

What you don't see on the Internet are the embarrassing failures, the thoughts that keep the risk-takers awake, and the mass amounts of debt to try to make things work.

This isn't a call for you to throw the towel in on your dreams...

this is a call for you to see the long-term vision - not the one you want TODAY.

Your first attempt at entrepreneurship will be successful...

just not in the manner you think.

Yes, you'll probably make some money - but not enough to acquire your material desires.

The most successful fruit you will bear will be the skills you'll learn and sharpen in this experience.

Let's say you launch a coaching offer on Instagram, like I did for my first entrepreneurial endeavor.

It was successful... to an extent.

But the SKILLS I learned and the OPPORTUNITIES that it created were the real fruits.

From content creation, backend management and client fulfillment, learning Meta ads, HT sales, appointment setting, YouTube, VSLs, and much more are tools that will translate into opportunities that will make me 10x the cash.

And the opportunities... the network I've created, the people I've met, the job offers I've received, and the connections I've made have compounded into more income.

I now dominantly work in the healthcare space while writing on here to build my brand.

Once I launched my coaching offer, a cofounder of a tech startup that I met 6 months prior saw the endless consistency of hard work I was putting in - so he extended a partnership offer.

And guess what?

My current 9-5 and that entrepreneurial opportunity are synergistic. One can make the other more money, meaning MORE INCOME for me.

When you start to put in the HOURS...

When you start to PRODUCE results...

When you put yourself out there, take RISKS, and impact lives...

The opportunities will come to you, inevitably.

Success leaves CLUES, so...

It is best to start your journey...

by working for someone who's accomplished the things you want to do.

It's not sexy.

It's not pretty.

It will hurt your ego.

But if you were already where you wanted to be, you'd be there, without the need or help of others.

The guys you see online doing the fabricated and mislabeled "10k or 100k/month," while they'll promote high agency, all started by working for somebody else and/or are mentored by someone who's done it.

You'll get to where you want to go faster by working for somebody who has the skills and the track record.

If the mentor you consult now hasn't done it...

they won't help you get to where you want to go.

The part the gurus REALLY hide?

They've failed.

At multiple, MULTIPLE different things.

They've launched offers with $0 to show for it.

They've tried other endeavors - don't even get me started with listing them.

They tried all the fancy stuff on the block.

No matter what you see or what they portray...

None of the gurus you see on the Internet were overnight stories OR successful with their first attempt at entrepreneurship.

It goes for anything in life.

It's less about the mindset...

And more about the conviction and the ability to stay in the game FOR A LONG TIME.

If I gave you 3 years to build a personal brand...

vs. 3 months...

Which offer would you take?

Which time horizon would give you more flexibility, more opportunity to fail, more time to find cash for mentors, more time to get education?

Think long-term, more often.

Delusion that's only fueled by your ego will get you results, but will lead to your inevitable crash and burn.

Take it from the guy it's happened to.

Your "delusion" should come from calm conviction, backed by relentless hard work AND relentless rest.

to your inevitable success,

Jlowe
